Gulet is traditional
Turkish wooden ,two masted boat , which was used
as a fishing boat around half century ago.The
consructions of gulets started in Bodrum area
than for groving up market contructions also
made in Bozburun , Marmaris , Fethiye and
İstanbul .Gulet constructions are made with
special handworks and carpenters prefer to use
lastings woods.
These lastings woods are
teak , maun and Iroko.
Teak : Teak tree grows in
Muson and its durable for heavy weather
conditions.The teak is valuable wood , its
expensive and generally imported to Turkey ,
boat builders use the teak on the deck of boat ,
thecolur of the teak seems grey but it doesn’t
mean that its old ,on the contrary the colour
shows the quality of product
Mahogany :The home town of
mahogany is middle of America and west of India
. but mahogany tree is growing up in Africa.Carpenters
use the mahogany in interior of gulets for
cabins and holl design.Its an elastic material
for usage.
Iroko : Iroko is more
expensive than both teak and mahogany.Its
generally growing up in Africa.Iroko is a
lasitng wood and used in exrterior and deck of
gulets on contructions.We can see the the iroko
in deluxe gulets.
Now the blue criuses in
Turkey operated with these gulets.The size of
gulets are between 17 – 40 meters , with in
tecnicals , woodwork , quality they splited in 4
different category.The sales rate of gulet are
bwetween 80,000 € - 4,000,000 € depends on their
quality.
The number of cabins of
gulets are bwetween 3 – 12 , these number are
subject to change during the comsept and using
target.
